REVIEWS

I should have ordered the bigger jar. I've rationed this, and it's difficult to not eat it all too quickly! Next time I WILL order the larger one!

Never a complaint! These are the best full range of peanut products I've ever had. The peanut brittle is the best, airy and won't break your jaw!

The Bertie County Peanuts Experience

Peanut picking has been a way of life in Bertie County for over a century. In the heart of Windsor, North Carolina, Bertie County Peanuts has been growing and crafting super extra large Virginia peanuts since 1992. These gourmet peanuts, prized for their unbeatable size and flavor, are a true reflection of the region's rich farming tradition.

Founded by Powell & Stokes, a family business dating back to 1919, Bertie County Peanuts is built on the simple principle of delivering only the finest peanut products. Today, Bertie County Peanuts can be found in over 300 specialty food stores, restaurants, hotel gift shops, and travel destinations across the U.S., sharing the rich peanut tradition of Bertie County far and wide.

Frequently Asked Questions

No matter what your question is, our team is always on hand to provide prompt and accurate answers.

We take our super extra-large blanched peanuts, boil them in water for around 10 minutes, let them drip dry for a few minutes, and then deep fry them in canola oil while they're still wet. This process causes a blister to form on the peanut, giving them their unique flavor and texture.

We normally begin harvesting during the latter part of September and aim to finish by the first of November.

Once a jar of peanuts is opened, oxygen begins to cause them to lose their flavor. Refrigerating them slows down this process.

To enjoy the best flavor of our roasted peanuts, they should be eaten soon after receiving them. Our Blister Fried Peanuts and candies should be eaten within 1-3 months. Raw peanuts should be refrigerated and will last several months if in a glass or airtight container. Both raw and blister fried peanuts can be kept in a freezer for several years without losing their flavors (do not freeze raw or roasted peanuts in the shell).

Yes, however, international orders require special handling and incur higher shipping costs. Additionally, your order may be subject to special import taxes or duties upon delivery, influenced by the currency exchange rate at the time of importation. Quotations from Powell & Stokes are issued in U.S. dollars and include the cost of the product(s) and associated shipping costs. Importation taxes, duties, and currency exchange involved in the transaction remain the sole responsibility of the purchaser. These fees (if applicable) may result in additional costs beyond those quoted by Powell & Stokes.
